2013 Arbiter Old Vine Shiraz
We selected the best 4 flood plain blocks in the vineyard to pick for this 2013 Old Vine Shiraz. Over 40% of the grapes came from vines more than 100 years old with the balance an average of 40 years old. All low yielding, they have produced balanced fruit with weight and depth from the warm, dry 2013 vintage.
Each parcel was aged individually for 22 months in 30% new and 70% seasoned 225 litre French oak barriques. Then the wine was blended together and left to fully integrate in seasoned 225 litre French oak barriquesfor a further 18 months.
By blending these carefully selected parcels of older fruit we have created a wine of great complexity.
