2007 Cutting Edge Cabernet Shiraz
Deep purple in colour. Attractive blackcurrant and blackberry fruit aromas interwoven with mocha/vanilla and spice characters. The palate shows mouth-filling dark berry fruit, cedar spice and a touch of chocolate. The persistent length and juicy, textured tannins ensure this wine can be enjoyed over the next 5 – 7 years. The Formby & Adams label reflects the Cabernet Dimension of Brothers in Arms. In 1891 William Formby was among those innovative souls who pioneered viticulture the family's grape growing traditions, consistently on the "cutting edge" through a mix of traditional and modern vineyard management and winemaking practices that enable him to produce the best possible wines from this famous vineyard.

A good winery, a strong wine region, two varieties that get along famously......why wouldn't it be good?
This is made by Brothers in Arms in Langhorne Creek, a region renowned for full-flavoured, supple reds. It is a 70%-30% blend and has loads of dark fruit - blackberry, dark plum and dark chocolate, yet it has that hallmark approachability of Langhorne Creek wines. Good drinking.

Both nose and palate are up front and richly ripe, indeed almost over-ripe with big dark fruit intensity, aromatic herbs and nicely contrasted by subtle oak. The colour is still very dark garnet but there is noticeable complexity and maturity in the mouth, with sweet, chocolatey, layered texture. Full bodied and intense.

In today's line up of exotica, Cutting Edge stands out for it's true blue, ripe fruitiness. It's sourced from the Adams family's historic Metala Vineyard at Langhorne Creek and presents the region's pure varietal definition and plush mid-palate. The Cabernet component shows a slight "minty" hint and the Shiraz adds a plummy plumpness. A kiss of sweet oak adds to the voluptuous, pure drinking pleaseure. One bottle may not be enough.
